Das Buch unternimmt einen Streifzug durch die Geschichte von Punk in Wien. Nach einem kurzen Rückblick auf die ersten beiden Wellen Ende der 70er- und Anfang der 80er-Jahre wird besonderes Augenmerk auf die Zeit gelegt, als nach dem Fall des Eisernen Vorhangs die Welt in Wien in Bewegung geriet und die Stadt in Schwung kam. Zum ersten Mal entstand eine Art von subkultureller Infrastruktur, die sich auch rasch auf das Umland ausbreitete. Mit EKH, Chelsea oder Flex gab es nun Orte, an denen regelmäßig Punkkonzerte stattfinden konnten.

Die Geschichte von Punk in Wien ist auch immer, mal mehr mal weniger, direkt mit der Geschichte der Hausbesetzungen der Stadt verbunden.

Wir freuen uns sehr, dass der Autor Claus Oistric vorbeikommen wird um sein Buch vorzustellen! :)

The book takes a journey through the history of punk in Vienna. After a brief look back at the first two waves at the end of the 1970s and beginning of the 1980s, particular attention is paid to the time when, after the fall of the Iron Curtain, the world in Vienna began to move and the city gained momentum. For the first time, a kind of subcultural infrastructure emerged, which quickly spread to the surrounding area. With EKH, Chelsea and Flex, there were now places where punk concerts could take place regularly.

The history of punk in Vienna is also always, sometimes more, sometimes less, directly linked to the history of squatting in the city.

We are delighted that the author Claus Oistric will be coming by to present his book! :)
